About Basarabia… the truth hurts. (english version)

Apparently the self-proclaimed and illegitimate  communist regime in Moldova continues to defy moral and human international laws. The repression of  young Moldovan people and the regime based on fear, terror and torture is lead by a mad man, with no contact to the reality of this century.  His style and nature of speech are Stalinistic and he believes that old soviet tactics still work.  All this madness to block the internet and access to information is a little naïve considering the technical ways in which information can be transmitted these days. The sad side of the story is that despite the fact Chisinau still has ways of connecting with the world, the simple men who live in the countryside have no access; they are bereaved of these significant events directly, voluntarily and consciously.

The countryside man takes his information from the only tv station, Moldova 1. Moldova 1 is the state television channel, strongly controlled by the actual regime.  You can imagine that the information is so biased that we strongly sustain that people are brazenly lied to. When the parliament building was vandalized (of course now everybody knows that Voronin was the great mind behind those actions) and in the center of the town gathered over 30,000 people, Moldova 1 broadcasted a documentary about squirrels and entertaining shows for children. It was the only tv station that didn’t broadcast live anything from the events. They showed only puzzled coverage of the events that obsessively showed the damages made by the “hooligans.”

“The great man of fine words”, “the president” Voronin said in one of his speeches after the events that took place on the 7th of April 2009, that the Moldavian youngsters, if they don’t destroy, they go clubbing till morning… and this behavior is their gratitude for what the regime has done for them and their future. Listening to what he was saying I began to wonder, apparently being a little naïve, if he can still stand himself when he is looking into mirror. Does he have the same disgusted expression on his face like we have when we see his face? Or the people that surround and follow him, people who went abroad to study, who saw other realities and have something to compare to… how can they stand themselves? For example one like Marian Lupu, the talking doll, who studied at Harvard.

I really wonder when people join the communist party– are they brainwashed, their personalities erased, they forget to think for themselves? They forget moral values? Forget that they are human? They live in a total denial of reality? And what about their family? Their children? What kind of education and future have they? What kind of example do they set for their children? They teach them how to become leeches, how to love money as the only value in this world. I am disgusted when I think about Mrs. Voronin or Mrs. Lupu… maybe they are disgusted like me. Or maybe they chose already between doing things right and buying a Gucci bag… I think fashion beats life nowadays…

But history already showed us how a mad man can reach a greater state of insanity when it’s allowed or ignored by the people around him. Now, in the 21st century, exactly like after World War Two, Europe is bouncing in front of Mother Russia. Europe is like a timorous child in front of big daddy who is full of gas and oil, with one hand on the tap ready to turn it off.

Barosso condemned the violence… well, we have to thank him, but that we can do alone, without European guidance. We, the simple people, wanted a stronger position.  I have one question for you, Mr. Barross: If you condemned the violence in Chisinau so promptly without analyzing what really happened and why it happened, now when we have 800 young people stolen from the streets, from schools or from their homes, do you need to study the matter? Because I didn’t hear you condemning the violence against citizens. Where are the human rights organizations? Where is Europe when the fundamental rights of human beings are constantly violated, when the greatest values of Europe are thrown to the garbage?  Or these ideas are just to show off to stupid and naïve persons, because in reality your interest is for oil and gas under some states that now are free from despotic regime, in the name of democracy and freedom…. I have to wonder what would have happened if Moldova had some gas, oil or anything remotely lucrative from an economic point of view. What have had Barrosso said then? Unfortunately, Moldova doesn’t have some of the economic advantages in which Europe could be interested in, and that’s why we won’t find the answer to that question. And when Europe will finally analyze the situation in Moldova, we are at risk that innocent people die, innocent people that only wished for a better life, in a free country with some kind of future.

Again, Europe abandons the ones with no economic interest. What is the distinction between EU and USSR?  It’s a long time I wonder… and I couldn’t find a good answer yet….

At this moment Romanian citizens can enter Moldova only by obtaining visas. The interesting part is that you need a visa approved by the Minister of Internal Affairs. All nice and swell, but how do you do that? This means that before I receive a visa, the KGB will check my background? How dictatorial is that?  During another time, that territory that is ours, is stolen without shame by the Russians and congratulated by the soviet oppressors who still are in the Russian country.
